Terms of Use
The rules for using Evidote: who runs it, who may use it, and what to expect.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Evidote, you agree to these terms. A parent or guardian agrees to them for each child they add.
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you do not agree, please do not use Evidote.
Who runs Evidote
Evidote is run by Tu Dao, as an individual.
It is not a product of any company. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Tu Dao.
What Evidote is
Evidote helps school students practise speaking and writing. A student answers. An AI coach gives feedback.
The feedback is practice help. It is not an exam mark. It does not replace a teacher. The AI can be wrong. An adult should check anything that matters.
Children never see scores in Evidote. A parent or guardian sees how the child is going.
Who can use it
A parent or guardian creates and manages a child's account. Children under 15 need a parent's or guardian's consent. The parent gives it in a short declaration when they create the child's account.
An adult sits nearby while a child practises.
Your account
- Keep your password safe. Do not share it.
- Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- A parent or guardian is responsible for the accounts of the children they manage.
- Give true details when you sign up.
Changes to Evidote
We may change, pause or stop Evidote or any part of it. If we stop it, we will tell you first.
We will not delete your data just because a part of Evidote stops. The Privacy Policy says when your data is deleted.
You can ask us for a copy of what you want to keep. Write to the contact address in the app.
Using Evidote well
- Do not type your last name, address, school, phone number or other private details. Make up examples instead.
- Do not type private details about other people.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around Evidote.
- Do not look at another family's information.
- Do not use Evidote to do anything unlawful or harmful.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.
What you type and say
You keep your rights in what you type and say. You let us store it and use it to run Evidote and give feedback.
That includes sending it to the companies named in the Privacy Policy. They help us give feedback. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train AI. Anthropic's commercial terms say it may not train its models on it.
Our content
The courses, lessons and design in Evidote belong to us or are used with permission. Use them for your own learning. Do not copy or share them.
AI helpers
Evidote uses AI. It says "AI" on the screen wherever AI is talking.
AI can make mistakes. It is not a person. It does not have feelings. Do not rely on it for important decisions.
Your rights and our responsibility
Some rights cannot be taken away. The Australian Consumer Law gives some guarantees that no terms can remove. Nothing here limits them.
Evidote is offered as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by using it, such as downtime or lost data.
Stopping
You can stop at any time. A parent can delete a child or the whole account in Settings. Or ask us to do it.
We may end an account that breaks these terms. We delete data as the Privacy Policy says.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date is at the top. If a change matters, we will tell parents by email.
Australian law applies.
